BSNL - Indian Telecom Operator, Set to Ban Chinese Equipment in Upgrade Likely

The Department of Telecom (DoT) insisted on BSNL, State-owned operator not to use Chinese equipment in 4g upgrade throughout India.


DoT guidelines to avoid Chinese Equipment

Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited  (BSNL) would follow the DoT guidelines to upgrade the 4G Infra in-country, DoT also suggested the private telcos Airtel, Vodafone Idea which has a fair large market share to avoid using Chinese equipment or have fewer dependencies on those.

Recently BSNL had planned using ZTE, Chinese network solution provider for the up-gradation and floated tenders, and worked out, But after recent encounters with China, BSNL considers total reworking of tender and decides upon the moves.

Now the US has taken steps to ban for a TikTok now for different reasons as the app spreads more political stories by people sharing videos on thoughts, fakes, etc which would have drastic effects in the coming November 2020 US elections
